Focus work

Stu­dents in the Depart­ment of Archi­tec­tu­re can wri­te a focus work in socio­lo­gy. The pre­re­qui­si­te for this is pri­or atten­dance of an elec­ti­ve cour­se in socio­lo­gy. A peri­od of one semes­ter is requi­red for a focus work in socio­lo­gy, from the sel­ec­tion of the topic to the submission.

Focus works are writ­ten semi­nar papers that are based on the cri­te­ria of sci­en­ti­fic work in the social sci­en­ces. They should meet the stan­dards appli­ca­ble to the social sci­en­ces. In order to achie­ve this goal, stu­dents recei­ve expert gui­dance and super­vi­si­on in their work. In addi­ti­on to exami­ning the con­tent, one of the lear­ning objec­ti­ves of the the­sis is for stu­dents to prac­ti­se wri­ting an aca­de­mic text cor­rect­ly in terms of struc­tu­re, form, cohe­rence of con­tent and aca­de­mic validity.
